The initial diagnosis was a cartridge replacement for the mix valve for our shower, but upon disassembly he found that the entire valve assembly was corroded beyond rescue due to our acid water, so the entire valve had to be replaced. Despite the major surgery, he did the job quickly, graciously and efficiently, and also alerted us to the larger systemic issue of which were only peripherally aware--our ph treatment system was empty of the acid neutralizing calcite, which accelerates pipe corrosion throughout the system.
